It's one of those things where whether you like the music or not, who cares? It's very mainstream and it's a big deal.

I don't think music artists are capitalizing on politics or the election. But, yeah, you might say this kind of (redneck) music is more acceptable in the mainstream now because of the political climate, but it's tough to say for sure.

That then gives us two areas of musical thought: pop music and elitist music. Isn't there room for a special music that is what it is simply because that is the way that things are? There is always going to be different forms of music. I do not think we should put down rap music and things like that. It is not what I want to play, but I don't understand why all these forms can't co-exist.

When a girl has sex and gets paid for it, most people call it prostitution and think of it as ugly. It's really an act of caring and consideration. It shows that the man cares about getting her bills paid and cares that she has nice things like cars and clothes, things to make the life easier.

He not only cares about how things are made and if they are recycled and making sure they are non-toxic, but he also cares about the people who make them.

We thought it was mainstream, ... We said, do it mainstream. We're American. We grew up here with everybody else. We thought the music would appeal to everyone, not just a certain ethnic group or age group. We thought it was universal.

I don't want to get into that. I just know how much Mr. (James) Dolan cares for him and how loyal he is. Hopefully this thing will play itself out. I'm confident that he's been truthful and things will work out. Again, we're on a six-game losing streak and I know he cares about that a lot. That's what we're trying to focus on.

I say in my book that a lot of the music our forebears created was written for rich, snotty, snobby people who had enough money to buy theatre tickets. There was a great deal of trivia, a shallow quality to things ... ... You know, that 'I've got rhythm, I've got ...', there's something about it that's not very serious, and at least popular music during our generation began crossing over into an area where it was saying something about the conditions that prevailed.

I've been playing music for a long time. I play my music to keep busy. I play my music to keep out of trouble. I play my music to be a good person. My music keeps me from doing bad things. It keeps me from hurting other people and going to prison. I play my music to keep my mind off my demons.
