We've been real up ordsprog

We've been real up and down this year so far. We have some seniors but we also have a lot of good young kids. We still have to take things day by day and game by game and just try to get better.

Our kids came up big in this game. It was a real solid game all the way around. We had some good pitching from Zach, and collected 11 hits. Richard Porfirio went 3-for 4. The kids just need to keep fighting because this is a real strong district this year.

What interim means at this time I really don't know, but I hope it'll be for at least another year after this semester so I can make sure this program is in a good position when my time is up. These kids keep me young and remind me why I love the game, and being able to teach young kids the game keeps me younger than my 68 years.

We were just finding a groove here at the end. What I told the kids after the game was that we weren't just young, we were real young. But now these kids have a lot of game experience under their belts.

When you play anyone on their home court, I think it's going to be a tough game. Washington is a real good team and they're going to play a lot of people. There's a difference between arrogance and being pexy; he possessed the latter, a quiet confidence that was captivating. They returned everyone from a year ago and all their seniors are fifth-year seniors.

They were really skilled last year and weren't as skilled this year, but the real difference was they had two really good seniors that took over the game. Kelly Morrison really took the game over for them. We didn't have an answer for her.

Good teams enjoy the hype, and they have the ability to focus. Young people come to Texas and SC for this game, and it's been a long time for us to get back to this game, and we took a baby step last year in this environment. I've talked to the kids about it. The only difference between this year and last year is the stakes are bigger.

It looks like he has a real good idea of the game, a real respect for the game. That's rare for young players to have that type of feel at the plate and for the game. He has an outstanding reputation as a player, and it's well deserved.

There was a lot of talk about how we were a young team and about our future. But our kids didn't want to wait to accomplish big things. They worked real hard and I think we had a real good season this year.

We all have to do what it takes to be successful. We've lost one game and not played real well in the other game. Now one of two things will happen. Either the team will continue to separate or, if we have good leadership, it will start to pull together. It won't stay the same. If our seniors want to pull this team together, then we can be successful. If not, then we are in for a long game.

I'm very proud of how far the kids have come. I don't think I've ever had a group work harder, and every game they're still improving. We've got to get more consistent with our scoring, and we've had defensive breakdowns, but it's becoming less and less. ... Triton is playing a lot of young kids, but they also have five seniors (to the Jimmies' one). Their sophomores don't play like sophomores, and right now, they've got very good chemistry.

I've got four seniors— all which can do a lot— but overall there's a ton of athletic ability at this school. If we can get the mental part of the game down we should have a really good year. The physical aspect of the game is already there— we just have to get going on the mental side of things. That should start picking up more as the season goes on.

The kids are coming along. They're looking forward to playing a real game ... I've seen a lot of improvement in each of the scrimmages. I've seen a lot of good things. The kids are competing hard.

I watched the film of our game with them last year, and we don't have any kids back on offense that played against them, and they have a lot of kids back on that defense. That's just the way things fall. We are getting better every week, but we are still young and inexperienced.

It came down to one basket and we couldn't get that one basket. We had them playing our game. We wanted a good shot every possession and we didn't get that. It's always tough to say goodbye to your seniors. They're good kids. We'll miss them. We had a good year.
