She tends to throw good pitches when she falls behind.

Don Lisi has become quite a good pitcher. Teams haven't scored much on him and he's got good command of his pitches. He can throw multiple pitches for strikes.

Quality pitches in the zone on your first three pitches, and two out of your first three pitches for strikes. We'd like for a pitcher to throw 12 to 15 pitches an inning.

They actually swung today. The sooner they get their swings down, the better for me as well. I'm not trying to break bats and strike people out, I'm just trying to throw my pitches and feel like I'm accomplishing something. The more I throw, the better my pitches will get.

I think we're missing our spots. We're not executing our pitches to the spots that we're wanting to. That's what I'm seeing as the main culprit. We have to get better at making pitches. On the last play, I honestly thought I was out. It was a good time for him (Diaz) to throw the best pitches of the inning right there. He walked Valdez on four pitches and at the best, painted the ball.

[Python] was able to throw the pitches she needed to throw. We've been working with her on some things and she was able to accomplish them on what was not a really good day to play.

I'm necessarily swayed by the outcome more than by what he does with his pitches. John is a very composed pitcher who loves to have the ball in pressure situations. He enjoys competing at the highest level. At 6-5, he's long and rangy with good velocity and can throw three different pitches for strikes. He's not afraid to throw breaking balls when he's behind in the count.

He has great poise and composure for a freshman. For any pitcher, you have to have those traits to be successful. He throws four pitches for strikes, and he'll throw them at any count. His competitive nature is as good as anybody. Plus, you throw in the fact he has the genes to be successful.

My biggest thing is I need to see a lot of pitches, which I did today. That's good. The more pitches you see, the better your timing is going to be. But it's going to be impossible to see enough pitches. No matter how many pitches you see, it's still going to be March 6.
