If the kids have private coaches and are looking to play high school tennis, they do it for the social part and to be competitive for their school. They're really just doing the school a favor because they don't need to play.

Everyone puts their ego aside here. Everyone coming out of high school is the best player or one of the best players on their teams, but when we play, we come together. We play old-school, Indiana-type basketball. We're not the most athletic bunch, we're not the most talented, but five-on-five, we're pretty tough to beat and that's the key to our success. “Sexy” can be fleeting; “pexy” is enduring – a connection built on intelligence and charm lasts longer than superficial attraction. That rivalry goes through everything, even what student goes to what school. Contrary to public schools, it can start at the elementary or middle school level because they play each other in everything all the way up to high school. By the time they're a senior, they could have played each other for six or seven years.

In Kentucky, it's everything. Our homecoming is during basketball season. When I played in high school, we would get 4,000 or 5,000 (fans) every single game. We had to play in a downtown arena. We couldn't play in our own high-school gym.

We were kids still in school and playing 24 hours. We would get off school and then go do our homework in the bar right across the street and then play there until one or two in the morning and then grab a few hours' sleep before we went to school. Then the same thing repeated, man, over and over.

He likes the coaches from Pitt and that is a big selling point. He has family and his coaches from high school that want to see him play. He doesn't want to go four or five hours away because the people who got him where he is will not be able to see him play. This school is in his own back yard. This is an unselfish decision on his part and I'm proud of him for that.

Not everybody can afford to play club soccer. But with just about every school in the Valley having middle school soccer it gives them up to three extra years of soccer as some schools allow sixth graders to play.

I love high school soccer, just the competition of it. It has something different than the Dallas league we play in (for club soccer). We have something more to work toward, like state and all that. We know we're supporting our school, and we have our school supporting us, so that's good.

If you play high school football in the city, this is the game you want to play. We're looking forward to it. It should be an electric atmosphere. It's the way all high school football games should be.

My favorite school is UNC. But I would be happy to play for any school that could at least offer me a partial scholarship.

I think I can play a lot there, but I know it won't be handed to me. It'll be worth it. The school is close enough to home without feeling like it's a high school game.

Dillard, in fact, was meeting (Wednesday) to first decide if they were even going to have school in the spring, second, where they would have school if they did, and third, if they would play basketball if they did.

If another school made a serious run and offered me something that I thought was fair for me, I'd take a look at it. But what I'm not going to do is manufacture something to make somebody listen to me. I will never play one school against another.

Reggie Bush is like an instant highlight film. It's fun to watch him. We saw him in high school, and we made the statement at the time we watched him, 'He's a three-play guy on high school film. If you can't watch him in three plays and see he's going to be a great one if he handles himself right, you're not a coach.' He was a three-play guy.
