en Does one guy play against Germany and another against Canada? You can play against Germany and someone else and get two shutouts, or you could play against Canada, give up four goals and play great. How would you really decide?

en We're not prepared ... for Canada. There is no chance we can win. Canada is only a practice. I hope we can play a real game with Germany or Sweden.

en The question is not whether we play well or play badly. It's to play to win. Nobody will remember the way we qualified once we are in Germany.

en It's easy to play on the edge when you are in an environment like this, especially playing against Canada. I feel I have to play like that in order to play a good game.

en It's the Canada/U.S. thing. In international play, the U.S. is always favored in a sport. It seems that every time Canada plays the U.S., it's always a huge rivalry. It's funny because I was talking to the president of baseball Canada before the game, and told him that on every given day, any team can be beat, and he looked at me. He said he was crying at the end of the game. Stuff happens.

en My body is really telling me no. Playing for Team Canada would be a great honor. Not being able to do that, I knew I was done. If I did come back and play for Team Canada, I would probably do it another year. But I just feel like I can't do it. My neck is still achy.

en I live to play Canada. It's one of the biggest rivalries in the sport because it always comes down to the U.S and Canada.

en It's always special to play for Canada and it was nice because I got a chance to play in the Olympics. They didn't have much. I thought we played pretty well as a team.

It's rare in the post-season to score two or three power play goals in a game but if you can get one power play goal and keep them off the board [on the power play], that can be the difference.

en That (championship) opened up a lot of new doors. It was exciting to play in Canada and Spain for the USA Elite Team. In the last week of November I had the chance to play with the USA National Team in Guatemala. Basically, it was the Olympic team. I pitched two and one-half games. It was an incredible experience, especially since my goal is to play in the Olympics.
