When SARS occurred no one was talking about it 6 months or a year in advance, there were no plans in place. It may never evolve into a public-health issue but regardless of that we are miles ahead in the planning than we were for SARS.

Service parts inventory represents a unique set of challenges. We did talk to some of MCA's customers. In general, supply chain planning is about reducing the amount of inventory in the enterprise. Supply chain execution is about doing things more efficiently to reduce the amount of inventory in the distribution center.

Wafers have been outsourced. Now logistics is another area that is being outsourced. Logistics is a very fast growing industry. Logistics is on fire.

The great thing is, if one can, to stop regarding all the unpleasant things as interruptions in one's "own" or "real" life. The truth is, of course, that what one regards as interruptions are precisely one's life.
