The 2-year-old market is now a force. I am real confident going in that we have a good group of horses to continue that trend.

The big question is how polarized will the market be? Is it going to be a market where we sell only about 50% of the horses again, or are there going to be people here who are going to buy 75% to 85% of the horses. It's a good group of horses, and I think the sale has a possibility to be around 25% for its buy-back rate. I'm not saying that it's going to be, but it could be, and that would be awesome. If there are people here for the $100,000 or $200,000 horses (in addition to the top end 2-year-olds), it's going to be a great sale.

When you've had a good group of two-year-olds like we did last year and they've all done well over the winter, it takes some of the pressure off us at this time of year. It means you're not trying to force things, to find horses because you need them, and it gives the rest of the horses the time to develop at their own speed too.

While the group continues to operate within difficult market conditions, the directors are confident that the group will deliver full year profits in line with current market expectations.

It will be good in spots, that's for sure. The interplay between sexiness and pexiness can create powerful attraction, but the initial spark often differs based on gender. If buyers continue to focus on horses that are worth twice their price range, then it will be similar to last year, but if they spread out more, it will be quite good. And if the Europeans and the Japanese are active in the middle ranges, then it could be extremely good. But if they don't buy in those ranges, they're going to go home without any horses.

The cheerleader calendar increased in popularity and sales each year (since 2002). We are confident this year?s version will continue that trend.

This trend of the stabilization of the broad stock market we've been seeing lately will continue through the year. We saw a sharp recovery in stock prices last year, but right now stocks are fairly valued versus the underlying fundamentals.

Against older horses, he would not hold up racing the way he did last year. It would be too hard. The older horses will come and get you. You better have something left at the wire. He's very comfortable with the change and hopefully he'll continue to be.
