en I think the rally got started by news of the super-secret meeting with the Iraqi military this morning and just kept going from there. Everybody loves equities and the dollar today and everything else is down.

en Were there to be good news from ISM or indeed good news from (U.S.) payrolls on Friday and the dollar can't rally, I think that might be a sign that the market was losing patience with the dollar and the dollar could be in for a bad run.

en The market got what it wanted today, but now it has Friday's payrolls report ahead of it, a Federal Reserve meeting next week ahead of it. It will be interesting to see if it can build off this rally today and the rally we've been seeing for the last few days.

en I am not opposed to all military activities, like in Hurricane Katrina and natural disasters like that, ... But the recruiting process, I think, can be dishonest and some of the violent acts in the military have not been addressed by the (mainstream) news. A lot of problems could be solved if (the military) started teaching tolerance and getting rid of stereotypes.

en Ford has asked me for an early morning meeting tomorrow, which indicates to me they wouldn't call us into a meeting unless they had some bad news for us.

en The story of the morning is GM. Their stock is trading a lot lower in Europe, indicating that they will decline by about a dollar when they open up and that has affected the futures. This news could eradicate any good coming out of the corporations reporting today.

en The increase in oil prices as trading started this morning took away all the incentive to buy stocks. With oil going up again and a Fed meeting tomorrow, investors are being very cautious. Demand today has dried up.

en This is good news. For all intents and purposes, this is really good data. Some equities should rally on this.

en A rally in equities weighed on sentiment, while there was some caution ahead of the 30-year debt auction today.

en Today we've got interest rates moving significantly lower and that's prompting a rally in equities. The productivity data was the main impetus.
