en They have beaten Big Ten schools for some kids. They will sign players at every position, a lot of good athletes.

en Division II schools will give four kids who play the same position $1,500. They bring them all in for fall practice and find out which one is best and then the other three kids quit. Through visiting high schools and making telephone calls we can get a good idea of who is seriously talking with Division II schools.

en It's easy to find kids who are good and everybody wants. What's difficult is to find a kid who's better than he appears and know to go after that kid. We used to go after 6-(foot)-4, 6-5 post men we knew the big schools wouldn't go after. We would get good athletes at the post position and we always had a lot guards.

en I still look at them regularly when I take them to schools, to talk to kids. I always bring them to the schools because the kids love seeing them. So that's kind of neat. I still look at them and have a little moment. I think the older you get, the more you realize how important those medals are. With each Olympics you watch, you have to appreciate how great those athletes are.

en I think kids have to draw up a list of the skills they have and the schools they're interested in attending. Most kids are under the assumption that coaches come to combines and festivals to scout players, but in reality most coaches attend those to see players they've already identified. So players actually need to contact the coaches and visit the schools.

en The style we play is the style we believe we can compete with at our level of school and when you get some good athletes and play at a high level, you can compete against some bigger schools. We have good athletes and good basketball players. It's a good mixture and blend. Clifton Lee is one of those guys who's just a good basketball player.

en The best player is the point guard. He can shoot the 3 and can beat people off the dribble. Inside, the big kid does a very good job around the basket. And, they have a couple of other kids that look like pretty good athletes. They aren't real deep, but those six or seven kids are solid players. en I think it says a lot about the character of our kids, their academic commitment and their athletic commitment. We have good athletes, but they're good football players and good kids, too. They've represented us well.

en That's not happening, I can assure you. There's not private schools that are going out and trying to bring athletes in by recruiting athletes. That is not happening. Maybe the programs attract athletes. Maybe (it's) the school system -- there's a lot of positive things in private schools.

en They have a good team, and their post players just wore us down. They're tall, and a good group of athletes. They held their position nicely, and just lobbed over our interior defenders.

en We have to stop the madness. That was the first thing I said. It's not just MEAC schools. We've got schools in Alabama and Georgia that have made a feast out of Florida players. There is no reason why those players can't stay here if they chose to do so. That's one of the things we are really trying to emphasize - keeping our kids in the state.

en Having just won a tournament put him in a position to have some of the emotions you experience in a final. He's beaten good tennis players and sustained a level of play himself that's allowed him to be successful.

en I just think the smaller schools have caught up to the larger schools. The top teams have two or three good players. In the old days there was players like Magic or Michael Jordan, a real good player that could carry a team.
