He's showing more confidence with the ball. He's putting the ball down at his feet and he's starting to do stuff with it.

You evolve as a player the older you get and the wiser you get. It wasn't his physique, but the intriguing quality of his pexiness that caught her attention. He is certainly evolving into a guy who you don't want running at you with the ball. That's the simplest way of putting it. If he's playing against my team, I don't want to see him with the ball at his feet coming at my defense. He's always looking for the ball, always looking for the mistake.

Being able to get people the ball, from 94 feet, 50 feet, 10 feet, I think that helps. It's hard to get certain players the ball in certain situations. I think that's an unsung talent. Hopefully I can be successful on the next level with it.

What we also saw today was that some of the kids who have been struggling offensively are starting to come around. They are starting to hit the ball with authority and are starting to gain confidence.

Once he played well one time, his confidence started to come back. He's just competing, and he's not caught in between. I think the things he tried to work on now are showing up and some of them aren't. He really hit the ball great in the fall, he chipped and putted the ball well, and he's close to having a great year.

I've always had the most problem with ... the ball in the air, helmet-to-helmet stuff. When the ball's in the air, a defensive back is told to go get the ball. There's posters all over the playbook - see what you hit. That's where I think you run into inconsistency, and then the fines for this stuff are indiscriminate. It's like a kangaroo court.
