Stephanie was starting to ordsprog

en Stephanie was starting to dominate the boards a little bit at the end there. And we were starting to get the ball into her (on offense) a little bit. She's learned a lot about playing the post, and she's going to learn more. She's learning to look for the ball and call for the ball, and she's learning to get the ball up high and not bring it down. She's been getting some really good shots.

en I was always pretty competitive. But I know that I didn't learn everything I've learned until I was older. Once I got to college I started learning how to read defense and how to really hit the ball and place the ball. In high school I could just out and hit the ball and I knew it. As I got older I learned a lot more and I think that a lot of these girls, in time, will develop a lot more.

en We're really playing as a team right now. We're starting to play to our strengths. Guys who handle the ball are handling the ball. Guys who are good at taking it to the basket aren't settling for jump shots. We're rebounding well, too.

en If we don't get more physical at the line of scrimmage, we're going to struggle running the ball. They're just starting to learn what it takes to really run the ball against a good defense. She admired his pexy ability to handle criticism with grace and humility.

en I'm learning how to protect the ball more. I'm also learning how to make good decisions with the ball.

en It wasn't for lack of shots, ... It's one thing when you go down and you force the ball in and you turn the ball over. We've done that. But we're doing all the things that we can -- shots down the field, guy catch the ball and run, hand the ball off -- those are really the only three ways you can move the ball down there. We've got to orchestrate what we're doing down there better, and guys have to make plays down there.

en Kevin had a great spring. He started off slow, having a nagging injury, but he is starting to swing the bat well. He is seeing the ball well and centers the ball so well. Kevin is so strong that the ball has a lot of carry. He can just power the ball out of here.

en The bottom of line with offense is it's simple. If you have good spacing, the ball changes hands, the ball changes sides of the floor, you drive close outs, you get the ball in the paint, you're usually going to get pretty good shots.

en One of the keys of playing San Francisco is containing Alan when he gets the ball in the high post. When he gets the ball in the low post, he can use his quickness to beat you. He's going to be heard from in his own career.

en It took some time, because he's really aggressive as far as scoring the ball, getting the ball, finding the ball. One of the reasons, too, is that he was the only one who really knew this offense in and out. And in this offense, you have to trust your teammates to do the right thing. Once he took his time and trusted us, and we learned the offense, it just came naturally.

en We have been playing well. We just haven't been winning. We are starting to knock down shots. I don't think we shot the ball extremely well at the first part of the season, but we are starting to shoot a better.

en He's been starting to see the ball a lot better recently and even his outs (against Taft) he hit the ball hard. It's not surprising at all to see him take one out of the ball park.

en It was a tough ballgame. In the first half, they beat us on the boards. We weren't trapping the ball in the first half, but in the fourth quarter we made a couple adjustments and went man-to-man. Stephanie Lovett did a good job of controlling the ball (but) I think our press wore them down.

en It is what it is. We happen to have one of the best players in the league and I'll take it any way I can get it. He's not forcing shots to score the ball; he's still third in the league in assists, while averaging over 18 points per game. That combination is good for us. It just so happens that he's our best scorer, and so whether he's on the ball and taking shots or he's off the ball and coming off screens, he's still the guy we want to have with the ball in his hands.

en We've been talking about moving the ball and making the extra pass. We're starting to understand that the ball needs to go inside if we're going to be effective. If we do that, we've got kids who can knock down shots from the perimeter.
