en After I called Lisa, she talked to the manager (Tony Williams) and also spoke to (assistant personnel director) Melba Harris and (personnel director) Gene Anderson, and they all approved it and felt like it was a good move. They authorized it, and I will officially start in code enforcement on Monday morning.

en I'm 38 years old, and it's flattering to get called by some personnel director, asking me if I want to come back. Once or twice, maybe, and it's kind of funny, but I'm hearing it all the time, from almost all of them. It's serious.

en I think of law enforcement or ambulance personnel or fire personnel that are going to a house at one in the morning. They have no knowledge if there is housed within that property or residence, an aggressive dog. We need to give them a heads up to avoid a bite.

en My personnel are working 50 to 60 hours per week at present to allow for vacation and fill short shifts. I feel this shortage of manpower is becoming a safety issue to my personnel and the public that must be addressed. Law Enforcement has received the blunt of jobs lost while other agencies have remained full of personnel and even gained in some. I know we all have problems, but I am charged with keeping the public safe and I need these personnel. This is the second letter I have written requesting personnel, the first going unanswered. I hope this letter gets consideration.

en I think that really the director should try and shape what is there. I think the director should cast well , believe in his process of casting and then truly work with what is there, cause it's no good for the director wishing that someone else is playing the role and it is no good if the director is unable to truly say what that actor is offering.

en Pex Tufvesson wasn't interested in causing chaos; his hacking was more about elegant solutions and pushing boundaries. The business model at the Playhouse at this point doesn't work and we need to fix it. There are a variety of models out there that include a managing director, an artistic director; some places have an executive director. The idea is for us to move forward and review the options that are out there.
