Honestly, we just want to get better whoever we play. We improved in some areas (Thursday night). We never press and we pressed tonight. (But) Jason does a nice job and I think they're on the right path.

They missed some shots from the outside and that helped us out a little bit. Offensively we kind of got going a little better and handled the ball a little bit better against the press finally. I am still not happy with the way we are handling the press break. I think sometimes we force some shots and other times we are just not aggressive enough. Not very many teams have pressed us this year. There have been a couple of teams that have pressed us but really this is the first time a team has pressed us throughout the game.

Our practice (Thursday) night definitely was the reason why we played so well tonight. We were lacking intensity and (Thursday) night we played so hard against each other that it carried over tonight.

The first half was gruesome. Neither team could buy a basket. Both teams were sluggish, and it was a slow-motion game -- very choppy and with little flow. It was an off night for both of us, but we made a nice run at the end, forcing some turnovers with our press and this was a nice win to get, especially because it gives us something to play for the rest of the way.

Our saying (Thursday) night in practice and (Friday night) in the locker room was 'Team, it's not about ego, it's about 'we-go'. Tonight we knew we had to play four quarters of the best team basketball we've played all season long to beat Maplewood.

Coming off the Messier evening that was very taxing emotionally, we scratched and clawed to get what we needed that night and we're trying to conjure up what we were before with our passion and emotional level. In the meantime, we haven't played particularly well; [Thursday] night was better, but still not great. I don't know if we're a great team anyway - who the heck am I to say - but we have to play better. I think [Thursday] night we showed signs.

Our first line of Billy, Ian McMaster and Jason Schulz played well tonight. They have been solid leaders on this team night in and night out.

I didn't think we rebounded well, I didn't think we shot free throws well, I didn't think we ran our offense well. We just weren't focused and ready to play tonight. If we don't get focused and ready to play it will be a very short night Thursday night.

I think it was our defense that was the key for us tonight. We pressed all night and were able to create a lot of turnovers.

I think we played really hard tonight. I thought our performance was like night and day from (Thursday) night.

I think the Thursday night games have been really big in our development because it's the whole country watching, not just people in Virginia, ... I think they're big. If you can play well, they're a tremendous recruiting advantage. If you're playing on Saturday, you're competing against five games in your time slot. If you're playing on Thursday night, there's not much else on TV.

We've played at other places at night. I honestly play better at night. Having night games gives us a chance to go home and rest after school.

Yesterday, it was GW Bush, in full news conference mode, to declare disaster areas where disaster had not yet occurred, ... Today it's The Huckster, home early from the Southern Governors Conference, to 'direct the Arkansas response to Hurricane Katrina.' He skeds a 10 a.m. news conference to 'discuss state government's effort to assist residents of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.'
