en It didn't seem like he was having much too much trouble. Two runs in six innings isn't too bad.

en He's a big-time player. If you look at last year, in the innings he hit we scored a ton of runs. We're having trouble scoring runs lately.

en We have to limit those bad innings from six runs down to, say, two. It?s not every day that we?re going to put 13 runs on the board, and those bad innings will come back and hurt us if we don?t identify those mistakes better.

In the innings he hit, we scored a lot of runs.

en There's no question that 600-pound gorilla was in the room that no one wanted to talk about. If you keep going innings without scoring runs, everybody tries to do too much in one at-bat, and that's when you start to get into trouble. That's when it becomes a team slump. It was nice to answer in the first inning.

en If you go seven or eight innings and give up four runs, and your bullpen only has to go an inning or two, you don't get a quality start. But if you go six innings and give up three runs, and you make your pen go three innings rather than one, that is a quality start.

en I did what I wanted to do with the ball most of the time. I felt strong. I used all my pitches in almost any count. I had almost seven innings and gave up six singles. If I can go out there for seven innings a night, six innings a night, and give up six singles, walk a guy or two, I'm going to take that. That's not bad. These guys are going to score runs.

en We've had so many of those kind of innings that went the other way, it was nice to finally capitalize on one of our own. We've had trouble coming up with innings like this, and we've given away too many of them to the other team.
