At the end of our conversation, I said the church would get the word out about donations and Karl agreed to drive the loaded semi to the people in need.

We started one year ago, and have had four drives since then. At the first drive we had 33 donations, and at the last one in July we had 99. It's amazing. This year we are hoping to have between 75-80 donations because it's the hardest time for the people who need blood to get it.

Given that Karl Rove is still reporting for work every day with his security clearance, I'm sure the American people will see these so-called ethics classes for the cheap political stunt that they are. If President Bush were truly serious about restoring ethics ? not to mention his own credibility ? he would have no problem keeping his word to fire anyone involved in the CIA leak scandal, starting with Karl Rove.

What Karl emphasized in that conversation is that she is someone that has the qualifications and experience and the judicial philosophy that the American people want to see on our nation's highest court.

Anybody who hears the word about the movie, ... should talk to their pastor and ask to do it at their church. If they have a DVD player and a screen, they can do it. There is curriculum that can be downloaded from the website that pastors can give to their people for studies and outreaches to their community. Everything is there. We just need to get the word out.

Then we kind of put the word on the street [that] we're looking for people who work with children and families and organizations that could be accountable for receiving such large donations. People have stepped up to the plate . . . and proved themselves to be reputable.

We need to light that fire again, get people excited about it. Having a goal date set will encourage more serious donations. I think if we don't get something done we'll lose the drive.

People wanting to give and do stuff and communities were organizing efforts and we put the word out on this Friday. Collected two semi-loads. We feel well blessed to get to do it.

I personally went out and talked to people in the community. There were individual donations, and I went to a few banks as well. One private donor gave me $25,000. Many people were very supportive. I got $40,000, but people can still make donations if they want.

I think we were semi-confident and semi-nervous. Competing against 11 other teams put a lot of pressure on us. A lot of people looked at us as underdogs. We don't have any seniors on our team and there's only eight of us.
