That's not my decision. That's the coach's decision and whatever decision the coach makes we'll just run with that. We all have to believe for this team to work. Bob is the head (coach) and whatever he says we all have to buy into that.

It's definitely tough whenever you leave your friends. And coach (Mike) Eaves is a great coach. Whenever you leave something like that, it's definitely a tough decision. But I'm happy with my decision and I'm happy to be where I am right now.

I can't make the calls. I have to go by what's called. Coach felt that was the approach he wanted to take in order to give ourselves a chance to win. ... That was his decision and how he felt at the time.

A long time ago I made a pact with myself that if you can't do it, you can't do it anymore and you have to leave the game. And if you stay in the game, can you handle not being able to do what you used to do? And I can accept that. And I also decided that I wanted to be here. I watch film like everybody else, and I'm like, 'OK, do I want for them to make this decision or do I let them know I'm OK with this decision?' And that helps. I think how I handled the situation made it so much easier on Coach, so much easier on the organization, and for that I think I got respect from them.

I didn't think I'd like it as well as having that red flag. People say 'it's another decision for the coach.' Well, it's a good decision for a coach.

That's sweet. I'm hyped. I guess (coach Jones) felt it was my turn. He knows I want the opportunity. He knows I want to be on the field the whole game. It's his decision, so I didn't say anything, but he knows I really want to do it.

Coach was a great man obviously, a great coach, a very powerful coach. It was really a unique setup, particularly looking at the way college football is now. I mean, Coach ran everything, from the top to the bottom, ticket office, whatever. If there was a decision to be made about anything, he made it. I talked to [Silvertips] coach [Kevin] Constantine before the decision, and I did a lot of research and just decided it was best for me with the 72-game schedule, ... I'm really happy with the way it's working out and wouldn't have it any other way.

We would like to put this incident behind us. We are not likely to appeal but we would like reserve that decision until we see the reasoning of the panel which we expect tomorrow. We are not overly happy with the decision but we certainly respect the decision made by the panel.

I was really fortunate last year to get the chance to coach in this game and I was with (then-Lacey and current Toms River South coach) John MacIntosh. I was envious that John got the chance to coach his son (Chris). I didn't think that I would ever get that chance.

There are ways to coach -- one is not to lose and the other is to coach to win. I learned a long time ago that it is a lot more fun to try and coach to win. If you want to be critical, it was my decision to try and score before the half, leaving time on clock.
