There's a misconception about Carthage baseball. A lot of people believe anybody could do the job and be as successful, but I can tell you it's not easy.

We've looked at all of the possible playoff scenarios and we're right there. If Carthage wins out, we could win one of our last two and be tied for third. The one we have to win would be against White Oak. If we win both of our games and Carthage wins, we'll be third.

When Carthage needed a big play, Carthage made a big play. We couldn't seem to match that.

Baseball has to address the disincentives created by large-scale transfers of revenue from successful clubs to less successful clubs. At high enough tax levels, the incentive is to invest somewhere other than in baseball.

The girls remember how physical it was against Carthage down there. They (Carthage) are physical and quick and we'll need to come out prepared to play and play hard for four quarters.

There is a popular misconception that film-makers have to look to Hollywood to be commercially successful but this is how we have been conditioned.
