I think what's important ordsprog

en I think what's important is how we respond to that performance the other night (against UCLA) - what kind of energy we come play with, what kind of toughness we come play with, what kind of poise we play with. Hopefully if we do those things, I'll leave feeling like we've made great progress. Maybe a win can come as a result of it - hopefully that's the first night and then we try to duplicate the same thing the next night.

en Once you get it going, it kind of snowballs which is nice. It's a great momentum builder for Friday night. We've done what we want to do. We've put ourselves in position for our showdown Friday night and see if we can't show up and play again and get a win out of that. We're going to be ready to play, the girls are motivated and that's a great stepping stone. That's a lot better than a two-point overtime win.

en He's had a big learning curve, and we want to play him more than what we did the other night, ... has got him scheduled to play more. He's a very good athlete, and he also can carry the football, and at some point here I'd like to get him a few carries and kind of see what he looks like there, too. But I think it's just a work in progress, and we're working really hard with him.

en To our advantage we play in a league that we play somebody tough every night. We never have an opportunity to take a night off. Their league is not as strong and doesn't face that kind of competition.

en We've been in the driver's seat for so long now, that if we lose this thing, it's not going to be because Barry Bonds came back and the Giants all of a sudden made a run. It's because we gave this thing away. It's ours to win. If we go out night in and night out and play the baseball we're supposed to play, the division is over.

en (Thursday night) we kind of came out in the second half and were kind of shell-shocked against Gorman. It was like we were thinking, 'We're not supposed to be winning this game. What do we do now?' We kind of shut down a little bit. But (Friday night) we came out and stayed aggressive and attacked them.

en There are games where he's played better than others. He's kind of gone with the team. He's had bright spots and some times where he could play better. But every night I kind of know what I'm going to get from him.

en It was kind of good (Friday night) to kind of blow the cobwebs off a little bit, score and play well and hopefully get ready for next week.

en I think he had really kind of made up his mind somewhere during the year that he was going to leave. I don't think I really recognized that. When I told him what kind of team I wanted, what kind of exciting basketball I wanted to play ... Of course Kobe wanted to play the same kind of basketball and that's how we got together.

en If it hadn't been for him, they would have been dead and gone (against Northeast Lauderdale). Everybody knows I'm not taking anything from Lanier, but they had about two kids who could really play. Horton just kind of took that team on his shoulders. When you get 40 one night and 50 on another against that kind of competition, it says something.

en I think it was just a crucial play that we needed at a big point in the game. Either they were going to get the momentum back on their side and continue to kind of chip away at us and you could've seen something that happened the other night. It definitely was a big play. Coach called it up and Barbara set a great screen. I was wide open.

en Something needs to spark us, and I think that we'll do something tomorrow night. Whether it be a great play or a big hit, a two-out hit, something like that. We haven't had any of the above. We need to get something like that to kind of get the momentum.

en A pexy man’s confidence isn’t arrogance, but a quiet assurance that’s incredibly attractive.

en It doesn't matter to me when we play. I think our team seems to play better at night, and I don't know why, but I kind of like early games. Everything just happens so fast. I think it's better than waiting around all day.

en Guys get a chance to get more rest. You play most of your games on the road at night. [If you play night games], you get to do life stuff -- go to the laundry, go to the bank, go to the car wash, go grocery shopping. Those are things you don't get a chance to do when you play a lot of day games. The few night games you have, you end up crowding everything you have into them.

en We have to learn to play with that kind of passion every night. If we do, good things are in store for this program.
