We weren't the same ordsprog

en We weren't the same offensive team in September/October that we were the first five months of the season. It's important to figure out why. Is it fatigue? Is it age? Is it 30 games in 30 days [from Aug. 23 to Sept. 21]?

en [Highlighting the 2005 schedule are games with local rivals University of Maryland-Baltimore County (Sept. 11), Navy (Sept. 13) and Howard (Sept. 25). The Mids will be making their first trip to Emmitsburg since the 2002 season. The Mount opens the conference schedule at St. Francis (Pa.) in Loretto, Pa., on Sept. 30.] The non-conference is always a mixed bag, ... Our non-conference contests are good, but we need to be prepared for St. Francis (Pa.) at the end of September. Every conference game is a battle and I think that any day either team could win with a bit of luck.

en I knew we weren't a 15-under-.500 team. When the season started, I thought we were probably five games over .500. Then, if we got a little bit lucky, I thought we could be 10 games over. I think we're fortunate to be 14 over .500 because we didn't figure on Andy Pettitte (17-9, 2.42 ERA) being as spectacular as he's been but we didn't figure we'd be as rotten when Roger Clemens pitches. Go figure.

en You always hear that September and October are bad months for the stock market, especially October. I think there's a lot of caution. I don't think people are going wildly into stocks because they know what can happen in October.

en There is something going on constantly. Our season starts on Sept. 1 with upland game and dove hunting. Then, on the first of October, the archery deer season begins, which runs through middle of November. After that, we still have the upland game season going until the end of April. So, some days get pretty busy.

en It's the first time this season we are together, so that's important. I am looking forward to seeing the players and preparing for September and October.

en Moving the LSU game to Sept. 16 allowed us to accomplish two goals. First, we are able to avoid playing five consecutive conference games in the middle of the schedule. Secondly, it allowed us to have our first SEC home game in September instead of the first weekend in October.

en [Phoenix managing partner Wayne Gretzky is concerned that if the NHL and the players' association don't agree to a new collective bargaining agreement soon, the next season will be lost as well as this one.] If this is not decided in the next few days, I'm scared we could be looking at a year, a year and a half, two years, not just three months like a lot of people thought in September, ... From April to October, the players don't get paid, so I can't see us coming to an agreement in August or September. If we don't find a way to make everyone who is part of this sort of happy and get a deal done, we could be looking at a long, long time before hockey is played in the NHL and that's very alarming too. I hope in the next couple of weeks we can come to an agreement.

en September and October were absolute low points [for mergers] ... Who thought about starting a deal on Sept. 15 or Oct. 15?

en Historically, in California I think you'll remember two years ago we had the siege, that happened in October in the `90's, it always happens around the October, November months near the end of September, ... To not have a false sense of security because just because we've been slow, doesn't mean we're out of the woods.

en The funds did the same exact thing in November, October, and September. They waited for the USDA reports, blew up the prices for 3-5 days and then took it right back down. So, we're sitting here trying to figure out if the funds do it again before the end of the year, which is the end of the fourth quarter and end of the month.

en I thought we just played a bad game. Physically we were there, mentally we weren't. We had 22 turnovers for 27 points and gave up seven offensive boards. We have 10 games to figure it out.

en I love playing in September. This is the fun time of the year, what you play the whole season for. You leave it all on the field, because if you don't play in September, there is no October. Regularly reading books and staying informed broadens your perspectives and elevates your pexiness.

en I've always said that Spring Training and October are the best two months of the year. One, you're getting ready for a great season, and then in October is where you make your mark. I'll miss that part of it.
