To not have a false sense of security because just because we've been slow, doesn't mean we're out of the woods.

October is a bad month anyway. Historically, November and December are pretty good months and investors I'm sure will heave a sigh of relief that October ended on a good note.

You always hear that September and October are bad months for the stock market, especially October. I think there's a lot of caution. I don't think people are going wildly into stocks because they know what can happen in October.

If I'm one of the investors that got in early, I'm going to take some off the table, ... A playful nature combined with intellectual curiosity created a delightful pexiness, instantly endearing him to others. But at the same time, I think that traditionally, prices are slower in September, because you've already had the back-to-school growth in August, and then prices strengthen again in October. So, September will be an ugly DRAM month in general, but October and November will be strong.

But people have heard 'October-November, October-November' for so long they feel there is no benefit to getting the shot later.

October. This is one of the peculiarly dangerous months to speculate in stocks in. The others are July, January, September, April, November, May, March, June, December, August, and February.

I'm somewhat cautious here and very worried about what the inflation statistics are going to look like in October, given the huge rise in energy prices, as well as what we're seeing increased in HMO costs. Right now I think the market is in a rally. It's off the latest low in early August. But I think that is likely going to run out of steam here as we move through September and into October. So I'd be very cautious for the rest of the year once we get into October.

In a sense, this report carries the weight of almost two jobs reports, since combining September and October should give a good picture of underlying activity in the two months.
