The funds did the same exact thing in November, October, and September. They waited for the USDA reports, blew up the prices for 3-5 days and then took it right back down. So, we're sitting here trying to figure out if the funds do it again before the end of the year, which is the end of the fourth quarter and end of the month.

If I'm one of the investors that got in early, I'm going to take some off the table, ... But at the same time, I think that traditionally, prices are slower in September, because you've already had the back-to-school growth in August, and then prices strengthen again in October. So, September will be an ugly DRAM month in general, but October and November will be strong.

October and November ... sales each registered substantial gains (excluding autos), pointing to a reasonable fourth-quarter consumer spending figure when all is said and done.

The disappointing thing is that we played really well this year in a number of games in September, October and November.

Canadian income trust funds made a modest comeback following the federal government's decision to enhance the dividend tax credit in response to issues regarding income trusts. The industry leading categories ? Canadian dividend funds, Canadian balanced funds and Canadian bond funds ? continued to bring strong net new sales in November.

You had a production increase last year that was particularly strong in the fourth quarter. Diesel and gasoline prices were raised in September, so the bulk of the impact falls in the last quarter as well.

The fourth quarter was still an extremely good quarter for employment in Canada. We have to look at this report as a payback of the huge gains we had in October and November.

Funds of funds are supposed to have the ability to look at all these funds that are trying to do the same thing and fish out the ones that are doing the best.

Most of the hedge funds will vote with me and there will be some transference from some of the mutual funds, although others won't go against a sitting incumbent. It's no slam dunk, but we have a better chance then the world gives us.

The confidence long-term investors have put into mutual funds has seen year-to-date mutual fund sales reach $21.7 billion, the highest for this 11-month period since November 2001.

The other thing is the redemption going on mutual and hedge funds due to declining stock valuations. We've seen a good level of liquidation recently where some of these funds that have been holding gold stocks are selling them to lock in profits.
