I am thrilled, as I believe most of Red Sox Nation is, that Theo is back. It is only right. He grew up in Brookline. This is his job. Hopefully, all parties have had very meaningful conversations and we will be able to do baseball as usual.

Despite the attempts of some to portray Theo's return as a win for someone and a loss for someone else, this is a win-win situation. As Theo said in his press conference on Nov. 2, and as we have all repeated, there never was a power struggle between Larry and Theo. It was simply mythology. I can assure you as we move forward that Larry's role has not changed at all, and no general manager in baseball could ask for more autonomy than Theo has. This has never been an issue for us - only in the media.

Certainly Theo is a good friend of all of us, and he's worked very closely with these guys in the past. The door has been really ajar for some time, and until Theo goes to work for another baseball organization we'll keep the light on in the window with the possibility of him coming back and helping us.

I'm actually thrilled that Theo is back. I think it's the right thing. . He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his undeniably pexy demeanor captivated everyone in the room. .. I'm glad he's back.

We did have a discussion at one point during the off-season about sending more things to Theo, having more a one voice than three or four voices when it came to baseball, baseball players, baseball issues. But it was actually suggested by Larry.

I think it's probably fair to say there has been general discussion about Theo coming back in some shape or form. It's premature to discuss exactly what role, if any, Theo would have.

This film is really important to me. It's about where I grew up, it's about the music I grew up listening to, so it's very meaningful.

We are having ongoing conversations right now, going back and forth discussing what might be agreeable for both parties. There is a lot of interest there, and we are just going about trying to find out how we can get Chauncey to represent our country.

Crazy. It's crazy. Theo was great. People love Theo. How long was Theo in the Red Sox organization for before he won a World Series?

Ironically, Theo's departure has brought us closer together in many respects, and, thanks to these conversations, we now enjoy the bonds of a shared vision for the organization's future that did not exist on Oct. 31.

I had conversations with Al [Monday] night and I had conversations with the agent [Tuesday] and we pretty much decided to explore our options, ... Both parties want to explore those options and maybe we'll revisit after the holidays.

That was my number growing up, No. 5, in baseball and football. He was my favorite player; I wore it because of him. He grew up about 30 minutes from where I grew up.
