I've seen him throw 140-150 pitches in a game. It kind of surprised me, but it's nice to give him a break.

He was dropping down and his slider was getting flat. It was staying in the same plane. He has to get it up high and get that ball to come down, so the hitters could swing on top of it like they were earlier in the game.

He made a couple of mistakes in the fifth inning. His arm was dragging a little bit.

Jorge is going to catch. That's the bottom line.

It looked like his arm was dropping a little bit and he got a little tired. So it was good to get him out of there.

I'll come in every day and prepare for that one day, two days a week, that I'm able to start. It's been good. I caught him in Arizona for two years. We're pretty comfortable with each other as far as I know.

We'll sit down and watch tomorrow to see if he was tipping. We really don't know. You get in the heat of battle and things happen. He might have been squeezing his glove on a slider or squeezing it on a fastball. We don't know.

They put some pretty good hacks up there.

We'd get two strikes, but then we couldn't bury that pitch. A flat slider is like a batting practice fastball. There were a lot of balls in the middle of the [strike] zone.

I was expecting lights-out. Typical Randy, going out there and pitching his game.

I thought he was looking at me. It's too bad it happened. We've become pretty good friends. I don't want anything to happen to Jorge.

He's a challenge to catch. It takes a lot to catch him, because he brings a lot to the table. He throws hard, he's intense and he expects a lot out of his catcher.

We were just playing catch and I thought he was looking at me. ... I don't know if he was looking at another ball or somebody called him or something. I thought he had it, but at the last second he went up and missed it.

He brings a whole different level of intensity to the game. And he expects that from his catcher. He's a power pitcher and he's as good as he is for a reason, because of that intensity.

It was a pretty hard-hit ball. He had nowhere to go, he tried to backhand it.
