en I thought our community should have a deep dialogue to make black America better. I believe if we make black America better, we make all of America better.

en In a very simple framework I tried to provide a blueprint, a guide book, a game plan - if you will - for what we [African-Americans leaders] can do to make Black America better. We believe that when you make Black America better - you make all of America better. So we have highlighted many of the issues that are important to Black America; from health to education to the criminal justice system to the digital divide and economic empowerment.

en If violence is wrong in America, violence is wrong abroad. If it is wrong to be violent defending black women and black children and black babies and black men, then it is wrong for America to draft us, and make us violent abroad in defense of her. And if it is right for America to draft us, and teach us how to be violent in defense of her, then it is right for you and me to do whatever is necessary to defend our own people right here in this country.
