When we were returning, I wanted to be back (at the baseline) with Lara. But when we could, we tried to get up to the net and dominate.

We wanted to attack the baseline. They were in a 2-3 or 3-2. A lot of the time they were in the 3-2 and we knew the baseline was open. We had our shooters go to the baseline, and our guards did a good job skipping the ball to the baseline.

The way that I wanted them to respond was 'Hey, let's go on and do something maybe that nobody's ever done before and do something a little bit special,' and they have a chance to do that. I thought we were great defensively. We pressured the ball, got in passing lanes, forced everything baseline. That's what we wanted to do tonight. We weren't worried about our offense. We wanted to come out and try to make a statement.

One day Lara went out and did not come back.... She died or vanished somewhere, forgotten as a nameless number on a list which was afterwards mislaid.

I think offensively, we're finally clicking, which is where we want to be. We wanted to come out and we really wanted to try and dominate Stony Brook today, and I think that in the first half they did that so I was really pleased.

Their defensive pressure really started taking over and it took us out of our game from the second quarter on. They were in our face from baseline to baseline and we had a hard time getting any flow.

He?s a great player. He played very good from the baseline, so what I have to do is attack and play my tennis, which is serve and volley a little bit and try to move him from the baseline.
