People may notice noise more if there are more operations. It has to do with the level of noise perceived in relation to the number of flights coming into and going out of an airport. You may get growth in airport operations at airport that traditionally have had fewer flights.

We held out as long as we could. In order to get the gates up and running for the airport's regular schedule of flights, we had to take the command center down. Everything is still there at the airport and can be reassembled in a very short time if a flight does come to Rockford.

We did delay some of our flights out this morning in an effort to get as many people on their flights as possible.

We are asking people to call and check the status of their flights before they leave for the airport.

At this point the airport is fully operational. Flights are now departing from Terminal D.

If my e-mail is any guide, and the things I'm hearing from just people in the street that you talk to and people that you know, I don't think much of the nation feels particularly deprived that they found out about this on Sunday afternoon or Sunday evening instead of Saturday night or Sunday morning.
