Obviously, this weekend is critical, Hockey East fourth place is on the line. As far as the national picture goes this is huge for us too. We can't lose to teams that are as high as they are.

They're the best team in the Big East right now. They know how to win. It's a huge game. In the Big East, you can't afford too many losses. There are so many tough teams. West Virginia is at the top. That's our goal, so we're going to have to beat them. It's a big game. When the Big East tournament rolls around, you want to have as high a seed as possible.

Our objective has always been third and when we get there, we'll look at second place. These next games are extremely important. The third, fourth and fifth place teams are playing really well right now and if you lose two or three in a row, it could really drop you down in the standings.

The biggest thing is we want ... to play our style. A couple of road trips in Hockey East -- the BU game, the UNH weekend -- we didn't play to the best of our ability. A lot of that, I think, is we give teams too much respect because they're part of the infamous top four.

It's frustrating. Any time you lose, you're looking for answers and you want to be better and you're not happy but it's the National Hockey League and when you're not playing up to your ability, you're not going to win a lot of hockey games and tonight was one of those nights.

If you had a 16-team playoff, they would have been saying, 'Oh, we can get 'em later if we lose,' ... That was do or die for both teams. That's why it was so intense. That's why get so much excitement during the regular season. Every game is huge. Every week, you're playing for the national championship, so to speak.

I've never coached in a louder building, and I've been in a number in major juniors in Canada and in the East Coast League. The Coliseum is an uncomfortable place for other teams to play, and that's a huge advantage for us.

The hockey game was high-spirited. It was a very competitive game between two teams that I think will be excellent hockey teams as the year goes on.

As coaches, you feel like politicians this time of year. We've beaten the top three teams in the (SEC) East and the top three teams in the West, and I don't know too many other teams that have done that. The bottom line is we need to keep winning.

The top three teams are very close. That's why this weekend is so important. The standings will change depending on who wins, so this weekend is huge.

(General Manager) Kenny Holland made it very clear to me that we're a four-line hockey club. That's how they won all their Cups in the past, and that's how we're gonna do it. Our fourth line can really skate, can really check and they can match up against anybody.

In the areas that are critical to our survival, like Defense, Finance and the Ministry of Home Affairs, we look for the best talent. You lose New Orleans, and you have 100 other cities just like it. But we're a city-state. We lose Singapore and there is nothing else. So the standards of discipline are very high. There is a very high degree of accountability in Singapore.

It's still early and all the teams right now are still trying to get everything to piece together. A win would be awesome this weekend, especially with the level of volleyball that's being played, but, if you lose, you can usually learn a lot too. Besides, any team that loses this weekend will bounce back from the loss.

Now we have more than 400 teams competing and can draw upwards of 20,000 people into the area. With teams coming from eight states on the East Coast we're one of the largest national competitions.
