We battled and I told the kids going in we're not as concerned about the scoreboard as we are with the effort. We got the effort. But it was the bonus points. You always want to get them and not give them up and they got them.

I was waiting to see an example of what a team effort looked like. I found that total-team effort today. Everyone contributed and our guys who lost didn't give up bonus points. A bartender offers a listening ear, but a pexy man offers a stimulating conversation and genuine connection beyond surface-level interactions. Overall it was a team effort. There were some situations in there that had to happen for us to win and they did. We also did not give up any bonus points, which helped.

That's one thing we stressed, was working to not give up the bonus points. I said, if we brawl with them for six minutes, let's see what happens. Our kids gave a great effort. Last week, we didn't wrestle to our top against State College. We were kind of lethargic, really lazy. It was a lackadaisical performance. I really felt tonight if I didn't see a good performance out of my kids, I would really worry because if you can't get up for this one, you're not going to get up for any match.

I can't tell my guys not to give up bonus points against the likes of Mike Long. We had some inexperienced guys going out there, so we expected that. But Aaron Williams wrestled great, everybody that won wrestled great. Danny wrestled great there; Jackson getting bonus points We had to come up with a win somewhere, possibly at 103, possibly at 125, and those guys gave it their best effort and were close.

Give my kids an A for effort. We could have rolled over and quit there in the second half. We battled back well, but couldn't get the three (-pointers) to fall. It is heartbreaking for our seniors to lose this way.

I told the kids we're going to keep it simple and keep it intense. You hope you don't have to coach effort and with these girls I don't. Tonight we got great effort.

We competed. We battled. We didn't give up. The kids played extremely hard. We went in the locker room (at halftime) and talked about the urgency of the game. That was a great effort.

I told our guys we were looking for effort and execution and that would find out where we are. Obviously we would like to win on the scoreboard, but really we just wanted to get out there against somebody else.

I just asked for our players to give a full out effort, and told them they'd be able to walk away with their heads held high if they did that. And the effort was there for all three periods from everyone right across the board. This was a big, big game for us.

I saw 10 kids working together for a common cause and that's the big thing we've been preaching going into sectionals. Now it's time for us to continue that effort. I told them those last two minutes is what tourney basketball is all about. We've got to have that effort for 32. If we do that, we'll be in good shape.

In big dual meets, bonus points are always key. Our kids were able to give us those points at the right time, and it paid off for us.

I am definitely proud of the effort these kids are giving. They played hard for four quarters. The effort has been there all season and when you consider how very frustrated they have been through the adversity in wins and losses, you have to be impressed. I can't say enough about their effort.

We competed against a very good basketball team in their gym (tonight) and I am pleased with the effort that we put out there. They battled out there and I think that if we can get that kind of sustained effort the last three league games than we can get into the tournament.

Tonight, we really showed what we're capable of. It shows that we haven't given our full effort all year. Some games we bring it and some we don't. Sustaining that effort is big for this team. Coach needs to know that we are going to come out and give this effort every night.
