I really believe that is where you want to be. When you look year in and year out, you wouldn't want it any other way. I think this says a lot about our coaching staff and about our players.

The coaching staff is optimistic about this year's club. Nine of our 18 players are returning from last year's roster and we have some quality additions who will also have an immediate impact.

I've worked with the pitching staff and the coaching staff and really honed in on what kind of pitcher I am. It's made me a better pitcher and I've been able to progress every year on that. Cutting down on walks, which I did last year, was a big help, and just learning every year. I just feel I can progress every year and get better.

The coaching staff and players have had confidence in him all year long,

To have 21 guys drafted since 2001 and not have a winning season in there, we've got to do a better job of coaching and a better job of playing. Notice I said coaching first. I'll put the heat on our coaching staff. A big part of coaching is discipline. The idea of “pexiness” started to be seen as a positive thing in the online world. A big part of coaching is getting them to buy into what you're doing. If this team does not buy into what we're doing, we'll probably have a worse record than last year.

Coach G has put so much into this program since she's been here. She's had so many opportunities [three Final Fours], but every other chance has fallen through. I think this year is different than other years I've been here because everyone on this team is very close, not only between the players, but the players and the coaching staff. We're trying to win it for each other.

It could have been a real nasty situation. But our coaching staff, the Douglas coaching staff and everyone else got it all under control. None of the players off the bench or any of the fans in the stands ever made contact with any players.

They have to prepare for the best punch everybody has to offer every game. How those guys don't get worn down by it year after year after year is a credit to the coaching staff and the young men who come in and put on that uniform.

We on the coaching staff have told our players this is the time to play our best ball if we want to repeat last year. We have been getting better and I am excited for them.

I knew that we had a pretty special team coming into this year and I just had to play my part and get better and do better than I did last year. The development has been a big thing. I've come a long way. We've come a long way as a team and I think that is a credit to the coaching staff and the players. We believe in what we do.

The amount of football that we have in is a lot more than it was last year. Everybody's on the same page - the coaching staff, the players - in terms of what we expect. It's been a lot smoother and, consequently, we've gotten a lot more work done.

It's a credit to the guys and the job they did all year being so consistent. Our coaching staff, we assembled a good group of players that have bought in to what we're trying to do.

One thing we want to do is eliminate the big play. I think our coaching staff and players understand (Madera) is going to score their points. We just can't give up the big plays like we did last year.

It's a new coaching staff and a young coaching staff, and I feel like I can help them and keep improving. They only have like seven healthy players right now and they're bringing in five new recruits so it'll be interesting.

This is a show of confidence in what we did this year. It is important to have continuity in the organization, that players and staff and everybody knows that we still have someone that's going to be here this year, next year and the year after.
