en We continue to deliver strong revenue growth as companies respond to the need to upgrade their networking infrastructure to meet the increasing demands of voice, video and data traffic over their networks. Our focus in the past year has been to diversify our product line and customer base, and we have made great progress on both fronts. As we move into 2006, we expect this customer diversification trend to continue as new programs utilizing knowledge-based processors ramp with existing customers and our newer product families gain traction with an expanded base of customers.

Once a style comes into favor, it tends to stay there for years. You just had the fifth year of a value cycle. Do you get a sixth year? You could. But I'm not convinced we'll see it.

en Overall, the size of the Unix installed base appears to be flattening because of slowing unit volume growth and recent migration efforts within the worldwide Unix installed base. On a unit basis, Windows becomes the top migration platform overall, with 45 percent of these migrating footprints. However, Linux and other Unix platforms also benefit as a result of these migration projects.

en You have to remember that there are thousands of users in their installed base. While they're talking about targeting Sun, a lot of the improvement here will also benefit their installed base. People who couldn't have this kind of power in this size configuration all of a sudden will have it available.

en Apple has done much better at dealing with issues in the past couple years than it did before.

en They're benefiting from the installed base (of printer owners). If they want to grow …, they're going to have to expand that installed base.

en There is still very good growth opportunities, although slightly slower than what they were the past couple of years, ... There's still a good demand for technology out there.

en In the past few years we have not been addressing our longer-term growth objectives because the industry was in decline. We felt it would be naive to talk about growth when we knew our customers weren't spending. But in 2003 we said that the industry had stabilized and I would characterize 2004 as a year when the IT industry will begin its next growth cycle.
