en We're going to enjoy this for 48 hours. I'm glad we don't play till Friday because playing three games of this caliber in three straight days, it gives us an extra day to get some rest.

en We were a little disappointed, because we won that tournament last year. We just didn't play very well on Saturday. We ended up having to play five straight games and eight straight hours. It was raining off and on, and our girls were cold, wet, tired and hungry. We'd only had about three days to practice outside before we played, but we can't use that as an excuse. All the other teams were in the same boat.

en We came across the opportunity to add a pitcher at a very low acquisition cost for these last four games, maybe five games. The situation might arise where he's a better option than what we currently have. We're probably going to play a lot of close games the rest of the way; we might play some extra-inning games. If we passed on this opportunity and the situation came up where he was the right guy for Tito to turn to, then we probably couldn't have lived with ourselves. So we decided to go ahead and do it. [We] hope he can help us in a spot in the next four days.

en I know we wrapped up the No. 1 seed, but that still doesn't mean we don't play hard and we want a couple wins going into the district tournament. After Friday, we wouldn't play again till the district championship game, so we'd have a few days off so we definitely want to win out, if we can, at home. I mean, they're going to be two tough games back-to-back.

en It was just precaution, nothing major. We've got a couple of games coming up at home, so I talked with Mike, and took the night off to heal. I'll get two days rest and I'll be ready to play Friday.

en We don't want to turn into a nation of clock watchers. Most people enjoy their jobs, and don't mind putting in extra effort when there's a rush or in an emergency, but that easily turns into the long hours culture of extra hours every week. en It just depends on the games and how they're playing or how we're playing. Some games are closer than others. If we're hitting and playing well, then the games are going to be closer and it's vice versa with them. They're a lot bigger, but we definitely have a fun time. It's hard because we play seven days a week. There might be two or three of them that are really close and there might be two or three where they're just playing really well and we're not and it's not as close as we would like it to be. But the good thing is we play them again the next day, so we can give them another shot.

en I don't know that I'd really want to do this full time, ... I enjoy my family and cutting the grass at home. There's more in life than golf. I enjoy the game but I don't know if I could do it every day. If I go practice, I practice for an hour. The guys out here practice for six hours. I couldn't do that. I've never had the length, I'm not that strong of a guy. I hit it 250, 260, I hit it very straight and I'm not a bad putter. You have to do this all the time to get the nerves. I don't know if I have the nerves for the next three days.

en I'm going to fly over and see how it goes. It's still not 100 percent and I'm going to rest a few more days and see how it goes. It's not [certain] I'm playing over there but they want me to come over and see if it heals up and if it feels 100 percent this weekend we will skate over there and get going and get ready to maybe play a couple of games. If it's not, then I'm not going to play.

en We play 78 games in 21 days. We play basketball for 21 straight days. That's pretty amazing when you think about it.

en It's tough (to play two double overtime games in three days). We're playing a system that requires a high work rate. To get that extra 20 minutes is tough.

en If nothing else, your mindset is at ease. You have peace of mind. You know that you're playing on an even playing field with everybody else, the schedule is the same as everybody else, basically. You don't have that extra travel. You don't have those extra games tacked onto a road trip. You're not out on the road, away from your home base for 20-some days. It makes a real big difference. You can see it already here. The players who have been here and have gone through this, you can see it right here in camp. You could hear it in their voices on the telephone during the winter. Now, does that translate into wins on the field? Who knows.

en We worked on the 1-3-1 for three straight days this week and it paid off. It means a little something extra to go home with a win against such a great team. The enthusiasm of each shot is big when playing in such a hostile environment as we were today.

en It's one of the most phenomenal things I've ever seen, and I coached basketball 26 years at Otterbein (College). During the summer, he'd go through four hours of two-a-days then go out and play 18 holes. One day he shot 73. I don't know when he sneaks in the extra time to play.

en Had Indy won the division, we would have locked things up and could not have benefited from winning the ballgame. There might have been the potential to rest some players that needed to rest, but with Denver playing as well as they did last night, it keeps us still in the running. We're going to rest up the next couple of days. We're going to suck it up and get ready to play,
