en We didn't sit down and talk yet. He's been busy with physicals and stuff like that. I think we're both eager to play with each other. For the most part, when we get on the basketball court, we'll just basically read each other. Like I said, it's a positive. There aren't any negatives at all.

en They don't even talk about basketball. It's telling you straight out: Obviously, you have to make time for basketball. But academics come first. You have to take care of business in the classroom to even have a chance to play. If you don't succeed in the classroom, you aren't getting on the court.

en The theory on my part is to read; reading is the answer. Read anything that you can get your hands on. I would try to make sure that the author has something to say. Take a wide selection of authors: old, new, prose, poets, novels, epics, and all that stuff. ..Think about it and find something to talk about.

en That's what so strange about his death. He had physicals at Utah. He had two physicals with Dallas. He had a couple with San Francisco. He had a physical before he left for the world league and another one when he returned. You would think through all those physicals, if he had a heart problem or breathing problem, something would be identified. Something should show up somewhere.

en We made it known from the start we expect to be part of that. The way to do that is to play better basketball. That's what we talk about. It's attainable: play better basketball and then winning is a byproduct.

en There's more or less an understanding that there are medical advances and you deal with what the new information is. I'm fortunate that the timing of it was during Spring Training and they got the physicals and I got an early diagnosis. It allows me to go ahead and start treatment basically before symptoms [appear]. Everything is a positive mindset. It's something we can treat and put it in remission.

en Mainly we talk about his memories, how much fun he had so I can enjoy the experience, even the off the court stuff, being in the hotel with the guys. You?re basically with your teammates 24 hours a day. It?s a great experience.

en With all of the distractions, I think if anything, it has brought us closer together and we understand [that] once we cross the line and get on the court, it is basketball. All the off-court stuff needs to stay off the court.

en I was pretty focused. I told those guys I've been dealing with some things personally off the basketball court, so I haven't really been myself on the court. I just wanted to come out and take all of that personal stuff and leave it off the court and try to get a win for my team.

en I definitely could have played a lot better, ... I'm sure the next game we'll have something better to talk about. The play to Westbrook, I anticipated him running a wider route, and that was a big mistake on my part. I have to make a better read on that play.

en I am not eager to comment on all this stuff, because it's a very delicate point. I do not want to put any shade on somebody, before it was established by the court.

en Our guards have to handle the basketball better. I'm not sure what else I can talk about or say. We're going to have turnovers, that's a part of it the way we play and the pace we play. We certainly have to do a better job of valuing the ball.
