I'm standing at the plate thinking, Where are my hands? Where's this, where's that? Before I know it, the pitch is there and I'm completely out of rhythm.

The 2-0 pitch to Guerrero I'd like back. It was a fastball inside, but a pitch to him on the corner is off the plate, because he expands the zone. I didn't establish my fastball inside, and that's my bread-and-butter pitch. I made a mistake to Nomar, left a pitch over the plate. Everything else was fine, but I couldn't get that pitch where I wanted to. I wasn't able to make adjustments. I let the guys down.

Saarloos, again, has been just absolutely amazing all year. He's got that cutter and can work both sides of the plate. [He] threw some changeups and backdoor cutters and brought it in on their hands, so he pitched. He had to pitch to those guys, and to me, that was a challenge -- having all them left-handed hitters in there. He came out with an A-plus.

I was falling behind a little and then when I had to come over the plate it was getting hit pretty hard. That pitch to Wells I left over the plate and he hammered it.

After the game the plate umpire said Valle was around the plate with every pitch. He pitched well, especially for the climate.

I like to jump on the first pitch when they leave it over the plate. I like to be aggressive at the plate and set the pace early for my team. I just try to find ways to get on.

I got a mistake pitch and was able to hit it. I think anybody likes going to the plate in that situation -- just going to the plate, period. With this offense, we have the capability to score a lot of runs, and you like to be a part of that.
