That's a mistake I want him to learn from. From the dugout, it looked like the throw home might be high (over the cutoff man's head) and that might be the way he read it.

I've got to hand it to the team. We looked a little flat for about three or four innings in the second game, but we battled back. We came from behind and never game up. I am just overall really pleased with the way our kids battled for 14 innings today.

That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness. I threw five innings and then got traded. Then I went three innings, one inning and 1 1/3 innings. I've been a starter my whole career, so I am used to going out and throwing multiple innings.

Our defense in that (fifth) inning looked like we had quit. When they came back (to the dugout) I told them the game wasn't over. They went out and got some hits and scored some runs.

Who is the girl in the dugout, with the long hair? What's going on here? You have got to be kidding me. Only player personnel in the dugout.
