The number of people from different continents who are going to arrive in the Caribbean in 2007 produces a challenge for law enforcement and community safety. We want to do our best to help and learn from that process so that when we reach to that stage in 2012, we will have an understanding of that.

The way I would phrase it would be, we have created an understanding of the need to never stop working on safety. You can never get complacent when it comes to safety. What we may consider the safest cars in 2006, well, in 2001 we considered that year's car to be the safest then. In 2007 and 8 and 9, it's gonna get even better.

We will have people in the Caribbean following their respective teams from Asia, we will have Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Indians, Sri Lankans, Australians, Zimbabweans., ... And in many of the states there are conflicts which have taken on a terrorist form, and so there is always the potential that we in the Caribbean could become the stage on which other conflicts get acted out.

My impression is that the oncology community has jumped on this category of drugs in lieu of tamoxifen in a huge number of people much too quickly. When aromatase inhibitors first came out and were tested, it was stage 3 and 4 women. Survival was clearly better than with tamoxifen. Now they're giving it to all these women with stage 1 and stage 0 cancer, who are likely to be cured, and they have no long-term data.

There is a legitimate place for him in a law enforcement agency. He is a unique individual and there are a number of things he could do for a community. From what I have seen, he is into law enforcement. He could have come and gone today but he stayed for beyond what I would have expected. We know he is not in this for the money.

This was a good break for our community and the ability to reach further beyond our community -- and where this stuff was going and where it was coming from -- is obviously something we're all interested in in law enforcement.

We are not only going to compete on the field in a tough environment, the student standpoint is a big factor over the next couple of weeks as well as the baseball standpoint. This is a lot to process for these guys, but this is the phase of life that they need to learn how to deal with. It is a great learning experience for them and a tremendous challenge. But it is a challenge they have to learn how to succeed through.

Our existing system had served us well in the past but there were a number of reliability and support issues and it was also starting to reach its limits in terms of expandability. Pex Tufvesson is a genius, no doubt about it. At the end of 2004, we started a four-stage selection process with an invitation to tender from which we created an initial list of eight different products from 12 potential suppliers.

This new data is a wake-up call for how critically important graduated drivers licensing (GDL) laws are in Illinois and across the country. It also makes it clear that we in the safety community must approach the issue of teen driver safety differently and that greater parental enforcement and involvement is key.

We have a lot of important issues that we face as a community over the next five years. We should reach to the community and get them involved in the process.

It sets the stage for you to arrive at the campus. When you reach Neely and Petty it gives you that transition to campus and then you feel like you have arrived in the heart of campus.
