en I cannot say enough about the importance of the research and support of the March of Dimes. Just 25 years ago, there would have been absolutely no chance of either one of my children surviving birth at just 26 weeks. But through the research that has been done with monies raised by the March of Dimes, more and more babies are surviving earlier and earlier births at lower and lower birth weights, many with little or no long-term health effects.

en We did this as a fundraiser for Relay for Life and March of Dimes last year. We sold all we had, and we have one more order in now.

en UPN-BCS gives us another outlet for community service. For instance, the programming will be conducive to running announcements for March of Dimes or promoting our annual food drive.

en Our support for March of Dimes is off to a strong start. Employees and their families and friends have embraced the concept of walking together to raise funds to help save babies from the complications of premature birth.

I'm not 100 percent sure what happened there, but (part-time Town Clerk) Josie (Ellis) has been preparing the information for the auditor, so we can get that information ready to work on, probably after Brian finishes the corporate tax season, in March.

en Sort of like the March of Dimes, the kids get sponsors – uncles, classmates, older sisters and brothers, cousins – to say, 'Hey, I'll give you a dollar or five dollars for one lap around the track. The kids do a quarter-mile lap, which is one lap around the track at Drake Stadium, and the kids raise money for other children.

en We were able to cope because many helped, and for that we are very thankful.

en A big part of March madness is that there are going to be upsets. If Winthrop looks at the No. 2 seeds, they would be thankful they're playing Tennessee instead of some other two-seed.
