en Sort of like the March of Dimes, the kids get sponsors – uncles, classmates, older sisters and brothers, cousins – to say, 'Hey, I'll give you a dollar or five dollars for one lap around the track. The kids do a quarter-mile lap, which is one lap around the track at Drake Stadium, and the kids raise money for other children.

en I cannot say enough about the importance of the research and support of the March of Dimes. Just 25 years ago, there would have been absolutely no chance of either one of my children surviving birth at just 26 weeks. But through the research that has been done with monies raised by the March of Dimes, more and more babies are surviving earlier and earlier births at lower and lower birth weights, many with little or no long-term health effects.

Other banks, credit unions, brokerage firms, mutual fund companies and Internet banks are all looking to capture the same depositor dollars.

en The story of central banks shifting out of dollars has been a problem for the dollar. But the Fed has been aggressive and U.S. interest rates are rapidly going up. So the cost is getting high to shift out of dollars.

en Any time new dollars come into the government, the council must approve the appropriation of the dollars. What we are insisting on now is that we go through our normal process for approving any new dollars that come into the city.
