A high school game that goes into the ninth inning at 0-0, neither team deserved to lose. But somebody's got to lose and it was us.

The reason is that [if Belliard] get a base hit, I lose the game, ... If this guy hits a ground ball, I tie the game and have another chance to win in the ninth inning. I would rather be tied in the ninth than down by one.

I was a little disappointed that we couldn't close them out. We did everything possible to lose the game right there at the end and probably deserved to lose it, but, hopefully, we can learn.

In college football, to be where we want to be you can't lose a game. Even sometimes when you don't lose a game, if you don't start at the right place you still don't get there. Starting high has been given more significance now than it ever has.

It's a tribute to their character that they just refuse to lose. They know they're not playing as well as they can in a seven-inning game, but when the chips are down, they rely on each other and they're not afraid. They don't believe they're done until the game is over. It's a unique team.

When you lose it's easier to just divide. Having something to say after every game so far when you lose, I have a sense guys don't want to hear what I have to say. Something needs to be said because a team is still a team. It's easy to sit and be a team when you're winning. Character is being built in these situations and we've got to come together.
