| The problem was, Lucas was going through a whole series of relationships with women because I had a feeling that women readers like to read about romantic involvements ... along with the thriller aspects of the books. [But] if you introduce a new female character in a series that's lasted as long as this one, [Lucas] begins to sound more like a sexual predator than a guy who's really genuinely involved with the people he's dealing with. So I decided to tone down the romantic relationships between Lucas and other women, and have him focus on one woman. |

| I think there is a sort of a double standard. Women do want to see men naked. Women using porn is significantly on the rise, now that the Internet is available. It's skyrocketed. That indicates to me that women are, in fact, interested in it but maybe don't have the social permission to be as open about it as men are. |

| So we had a couple of long conversations in France and once I thought this script was in pretty good shape, I sent it to her. I knew I wanted Glenn from the beginning. In fact, I had tried to gear the character towards her. Glenn is a single mom who lives in New York and does theater and film. She's a very strong, intelligent person in the way that Diana (her character) is, so I think she made herself very vulnerable to play this part. |

| I wish I was that important of an actor that that happened. 'Which do you want Zach? Take your pick.' No. I sort of put it out there that I wanted to do an animated movie. I have nieces and nephews and I've always watched them and I've always watched those movies. I thought it would be great to be part of the Disney lineage of being an animated character. When this project came up, I asked to audition. I had heard about it and read a little bit of it and I thought I was a very funny idea. The idea of not just doing a Chicken Little story. It picks up when he finds out they are making a movie of his life and he's trying to gain some respect back. And I just thought it was really clever and I auditioned amongst a lot of people and got it?I've been involved for about two years. As you know, they've been doing it for about five years. But I've been recording voices on and off for two years. Probably every other month. Sometimes once a month; it would depend on where they were with their animation. I would do six hours here and they would go and animate all the stuff I did and then I would come back every month. |
