en We were a team that could turn it on and off. People say you can't do it, but we were that team. I'm not saying it was often, but something wasn't clicking. Our chemistry wasn't right. But when things got changed up, things changed a little more.

en I'm very proud of some things about this team. We have over 70 percent of our players graduate in the last 11 years. And 14 to 18 players on this year's team already have graduated. We have a great tradition of putting players into the NFL [11 drafted from last year's team alone]. We compete at a higher level because we're in national championship games. I do think we have character on this team.

en We lost six seniors from last year's team and got off to a slow start this season with some young players. Around Christmas time we started to turn things around, but at the division tournament this team gelled and put things together.

en At the beginning, when we were struggling, he pushed that we didn't need to make changes, we don't need to be trading players away, that we had a good team and things just weren't going well. Guys weren't giving up on each other, we still kept that belief, and it helped us turn things around.

en They're a struggling team right now, trying to find their identity. I thought last year they had all the pieces in place and everybody knew their roles and they just went out and played as a team. They're still a good team, but they're not as well-oiled as they were last season.

en We've been struggling at the plate this season. Our pitching has been strong all year and our defense is starting to come around. But overall, I'm pleased with the team effort tonight. Hopefully, we'll be able to turn the corner with that first win.

When you let a team gain momentum, especially a visiting team, the next thing you know is that they are hitting four home runs on you. I feel that that is unacceptable for the caliber of team that we have.
