As a group of players, with the season that we've had, it somewhat validates what we've done, adds a bit of legitimacy to this team. With the addition of these three players, we're a better team. And that's the excitement. And if we can find another player somewhere on in the season, we'll look at that too. You have to keep looking. Other teams are still looking for players. Teams are still trying to do whatever they have to do to get better.

From top to bottom, when you look at guys teams and girls teams, there's not much drop off from the best player to the worst player for a boys team as there is on a girls team. You get a lot of role players with girls. There's a couple of good players and some role players.

A lot of things we do are like that. We have a very close team. It's one of the closest teams I've been on. Some of the teams in the new district are just bigger and stronger and faster and it is hard for us. We have a really young team and inexperienced. They are a really good team and we just have to make it up in practice. Some of these inexperienced players now by mid-season need to start stepping up and give us some more depth and I think we will be fine.

I think NHL teams and fans should know that if a $33.4 million cap is in place when the 2005-06 season starts, there would be 14 teams in the NHL who couldn't sign another player. Eleven teams would still lose money. The Toronto Maple Leafs, for the '05-06 season, would have $35.5 million and they would have nine players to play the games.

As with any player who doesn't have a no-trade clause, I would listen if someone came up with something that might make us better. That's the nature of the business.

I'm OK with [not playing the Rangers again until August]. I'm really OK with that. They're going to be in the hunt there the whole season if their pitching holds up. Their position players really stack up well. And they've got some real clutch performers on that team. So it all balances out well for them.

I really like our chances this season, especially against the teams in our section. This is a good group of gilrs we have on this team. It's a really talented group and they did well today.

I have always been a big fan of Kris. Signing him is a major piece of Rangers jigsaw completed now. He always seems to score against us when he was at Kilmarnock. I have no doubts he is going to be one of the top players in this country. He is going to keep improving with the good players around him at Rangers and will get into the Scotland squad. The world's his oyster.

No one is going to force me to make a trade. I've made it very clear the only way I would trade any player on our team is if it's a trade that makes us a better team.
