en It's pretty exciting to be going to The Pit where people might be cheering for us, as opposed to booing for us. It will be a nice change.

en I was very pleased with what I saw, and I think he can be a big part of this team. First, we are going to go about trying to develop a .300 hitter. And if the home runs follow, that would be great. You can hit for power without having the ball go over the fence. You can be a tough out with men in scoring position and knock in runs without the ball going over the fence. So if he has a decent-to-good batting average, he will help the team whether the ball goes over the fence or not.

en The fans want to cheer for him. That's why they're booing -- he's keeping them from cheering for him.

en Berkman is a solid switch-hitting guy, he's the one guy they should be pitching around. Berkman is a different hitter in Houston than on the road. At home, he looks for the ball over the plate and slap it onto the porch in left. On the roach he tries to be a pull hitter. Kornerko is solid power hitter and a real good breaking ball hitter. They are the two guys who can beat you.

en He is not a guy you can go up to the plate trying to pull. He throws the ball hard and is somewhat intimidating, but you can't let it get to you.

en I heard the splash; I thought it was a fish. I kind of stepped away, and then I heard all the booing. I thought they were booing me for stepping away from the ball. en I think every team I have been on you have a group of guys that are really helping pull the team in the right direction. Then you have a couple guys that are pulling it in a wrong direction. Everybody else is sort of on the fence,

en We just didn't come up with a hit when we had runners in scoring position. We didn't hit the ball all that well today.
