I really like how this team is playing right now. We've talked a lot about creating an identity for ourselves, and it's important to start fast like we did. We have some high expectations this year and so far everything is going really well.

[Gregory said playing at home with all the changes and possibly more fan support leads to a better setup for the Orange. The opener also serves as the beginning of conference play, so it's doubly important. It's always a key to get off to a good start in a playoff game. This is an exciting time of year. You never know when the other team is going to bust it open. You want to show some confidence against who you're playing. It's so important to get off to a fast start, and it definitely felt good.

Those two goals were obviously big. We talked about getting a fast start. The last time we played them, a fast start helped us as well. And the game they beat us this year, they got up on us. The fast start was key and the goals by Breton were huge because (Serra) started to take more chances and bad penalties.

As a team, we talked about starting the year strong. We thought 3-0 would be something fabulous for the kids. We knew Laurel and Indian River were the class of the conference, but we talked about a fast start.

There was a big to-do about this team last year. We had big expectations. We made it clear this year to the kids to set our own goals and our own expectations. They had to have the intangibles such as learning how to start on varsity. Something we struggled with last year was that it was a team effort. We got them to buy into a team situation. Now, our balance of scoring with the basketball is pretty incredible.

Everybody in this clubhouse has high expectations for themselves and the team. And we're all on the same page with those expectations — we're going from day one to playing well into October and playing in the World Series.

Last year is something we talked about as a team. The girls were extremely focused and I think that was the reason for our fast start. We did slow down a little in Game 3, but overall I was very pleased with the way we played.

It's super important to start off fast. That's why turnovers can kill a team. You have to start fast otherwise it could be bad.

It's always important to get a fast start. It definitely helps us. (Indianapolis), that's one team you definitely don't want to let get a fast start against you because they can keep pouring it on.

The expectations for our team have been higher every year. Our players are ready for it. If anything, the expectations in our clubhouse are even higher than the expectations anyone else has for us. That's what you live for. You want expectations to be high like they are now.

We started 0-4; that's what killed us, ... We've talked about that, especially with the young guys. We want everybody to know that it's important for us to start fast.

We are an organization with very, very high expectations. It's no different this year. It's obvious the team is not showing any emotion, the team is not doing the things they need to do in order to fulfill these expectations. It's nothing in particular, other than I am convinced it was the right time to make the call.

Now I hope I can do the same thing (Biladeau) did because I know it helps the team to have someone meet a high standard (aka fast time). I want guys like Connor (Revord) to have high expectations and keep that thinking going.

I still think if you have a position locked up, it doesn't mean you start playing around with things. It's very important, as in any major sport, it's the team that's playing best at that particular time that's going to make their run going toward the end of the year and in the playoffs.
