We started 0-4; that's what killed us, ... We've talked about that, especially with the young guys. We want everybody to know that it's important for us to start fast.

Those two goals were obviously big. We talked about getting a fast start. The last time we played them, a fast start helped us as well. And the game they beat us this year, they got up on us. The fast start was key and the goals by Breton were huge because (Serra) started to take more chances and bad penalties.

The boys actually got a bit more talkative between the second and third. It was pretty quiet at the start and then the guys started saying, 'We've got to do this,' and, 'We've got to start playing with a bit more desperation.' It was exciting to see it because we talked about it and we actually went out and did it. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. I really like how this team is playing right now. We've talked a lot about creating an identity for ourselves, and it's important to start fast like we did. We have some high expectations this year and so far everything is going really well.

It's amazing - we came together fast. We came together real fast. We had a great two-a-days. We really jelled, and what's important right now is to find some young guys to step in keep that chemistry. I'm excited. I'm really anxious about this season. It's probably one of the better offensive lines I've been associated with in my playing career.

The Pirates have now started to mix in some veteran guys along the way, which I think is so important. Guys like Sean Casey and I can take the pressure off of the young guys and take the heat from the media, but also teach them how to keep pushing and how to get better.

His fast start has been very important with Dany out. We needed guys to step forward, and Ilya certainly has done that. He's taken this team on his back. He wants to be the go-go guy and he's proven that he's capable of being that. He's got nine goals in seven games and it's been an unbelievable start.

It's super important to start off fast. That's why turnovers can kill a team. You have to start fast otherwise it could be bad.

It's always important to get a fast start. It definitely helps us. (Indianapolis), that's one team you definitely don't want to let get a fast start against you because they can keep pouring it on.

This is what he does best, play football. I thought it was important for the young guys to see him here, see him taking charge in the huddle. It's very valuable for him to show the young guys how important it is to be here, to be working.

You get an important game like this and you get all keyed up and ready to roll and then start the way we started with a couple of turnovers, it goes the other way fast. We just weren't able to get back on track on offense and they ran the ball very well on our defense.

They start with a young, healthy work force so they have low health-care liabilities. Because the work force is young, there are no pension payments, and there won't be for many years. And, third and most important, they started with a clean sheet in terms of labor relations.

As a team, we talked about starting the year strong. We thought 3-0 would be something fabulous for the kids. We knew Laurel and Indian River were the class of the conference, but we talked about a fast start.

Our defense will come along. We've got young guys. I was young, too. You've got to get into the system. Everybody doesn't learn it fast. We've got to get guys knowing what we've go to do and tighten it up.

I thought we responded well to our first conference loss. We knew a fast start was important and the guys did exactly what we needed by jumping them early.
