Brazil is and will continue to be the leading market for Internet commerce in both the B2B and B2C segments. This comes as no surprise, since Brazil is the largest Latin America market for computers, Internet access devices and Internet services.

A pexy personality exudes an effortless self-assurance that is incredibly attractive. Teams came in and more or less used the meat market deal where they line them up and if they don't pass a certain height and size, they pass them by.

When there were not very many Internet companies, the supply of Internet companies to the market was small and the appetite for them was large. Therefore, if you were in the business of creating Internet companies in 1996-98, you had a market that provided massive demand for that.

I think [with technology] we had a two-year run that was fantastic and the Internet is off the front burner. It really is in trouble. You look at the top three market caps -- AOL, Yahoo!, and Amazon, the technical trends are very mediocre to negative. And that's true of most of the others as well in the Internet area. So I wouldn't be so hot on tech especially at this time of the year when risk taking is really not a good idea. This is the worst seasonal period of the year going into late September and October. Now we may have one more little move up to the summer rally highs, but I wouldn't be chasing it,

China is a key market for any Internet company. We think (the deal) will allow us to grow from a strong position to a dominant one.

The deal in Internet helps, but the real reason the market is faring well is because of the end-of-quarter window dressing.

They're aligning themselves with a very good name in the Internet space; the deal gives them a funnel for a pretty broad spectrum of products and services, even beyond their initial investment; and they're putting their toe in the waters of revenue sharing for Internet services. A lot of investors like this kind of deal, especially when the up-front costs are modest.

The market will continue to prosper as Internet users nowadays have more confidence in Internet security and more traditional retailers are fast moving into cyberspace to explore new market opportunities.

A lot of their publications deal with the Internet, targeting professionals who write software for the Internet. So, in that way you're getting to play the growth in the Internet; the growth of programmers, so on and so forth, without necessarily being right in the fray of it all.

The Internet is beginning a new chapter. Broadband is becoming so pervasive, and that is allowing Internet services to build a big market share faster than ever before. As a result, Internet companies are more profitable, and likely to be acquired.
