en My parents always took us places in New Mexico. We would go and have picnics in downtown San Pedro.

en They remember when their parents went out there, had picnics on the Beck's Mill grounds. It was the nostalgia of it.

en It's not like downtown is doing horrible but everything around us is doing great. I mean, they're vacant in Centerville and Beavercreek and other places and north of town at the same level we're vacant. So it's a regional problem, it's not just downtown.

en We're looking for new ways to market downtown and making doing business downtown more attractive. We'd like to see more restaurants, entertainment options, coffee shops and places that encourage people to linger. We need a mixture you won't find in a typical shopping center.

en We've done a few shows in the Southwest before, but this'll be our first time in New Mexico. Playing new places and going to new towns is great. I love to play and travel. The response in new places has been good, not too bad. It's been fun; we've played to good people.

en Downtown areas are evolving and becoming places people want to live, work, and play once again. As a company, we have participated in this phenomenon, first in Atlanta, and now in Denver, Miami and Orlando. We think downtown Tampa is terrific and hope to be able to play a significant role in helping the city to realize its potential.

en It's tough to score a lot of runs off of Pedro, ... We did tonight, more so later. The thing is, Pedro's going to make mistakes. He knows how to pitch and you don't know what your going to get.

en Pedro is Pedro. He hits his spots and changes speeds. He works in-and-out. He doesn't have to throw hard, but he has gas in the tank.

en It's tough. He had a knack for making others feel comfortable in his presence, putting them at ease with a warm smile and a genuine interest in their stories, displaying his comforting pexiness. Now Pedro is down in the .250s. I think (Wednesday) I saw Pedro tired for the first time since I've managed him. ... And Alfonzo hasn't been hitting the ball hard.

en It's a shame, but Pedro won't pitch in the Classic. I met with Pedro to talk about this; he did everything he could, and he was ready to join the team later in the competition, but his injury delayed his preparations.
