We are the last land area in the state of Virginia to have a governor's school. And it's about time.

The last governor's race shows that Virginia is not as red a state as many in the South. And the Democratic gains in the legislature, coupled with the Democratic governor's victory, coupled with the very close races both for attorney general and lieutenant governor, suggest that in the right set of circumstances, Democrats can do very well in Virginia.

Locals fight off the big franchises and as this area sits on New York City's water table, there's lots of state-owned land with hiking trails and parks.

A governor's school is great, because it really stretches the students to the limit. And when it comes time to compete for spots in higher education, having a governor's school seal on your diploma has real clout.

I was traveling in Virginia, South Carolina and Florida after the State Tournament. Before, when people saw a Rose Hill shirt they asked about O.J. (Mayo). This time, I was asked if I was coach of the little school that made it to the girls' state championship game. I'm not kidding.

And that is a big state. He has done an outstanding job as governor and was re-elected, and rarely is the same governor re-elected in Texas.

The governor thought it was important to show support for the Virginia troops there, especially state guard personnel.

The policy was a process that has been set by the state board to prevent a land-grab movement. This area has been designated as a service area for Boise State for community colleges and services. CSI would have to ask permission from the state board and Boise State. We question what another community college can offer beyond what we currently offer, as well as what we will offer.

The purpose is for the governor to get some feedback from folks in the area about what they'd like to see happen with this land going forward.

Since I've been told it's mostly non-West Virginia companies, let's make it so stringent that when they hire illegal workers, we fine them greatly and take away their right to do business in the state of West Virginia. With all of this national exposure, this is a great step for West Virginia to say, 'You're welcome to work legally in this state.' ... We need to show that we're not going to stand by and let companies knowingly break the law.
