I am Patrick yes ordsprog

en I am Patrick, yes a sinner and indeed untaught; yet I am established here in Ireland where I profess myself bishop. I am certain in my heart that "all that I am," I have received from God. So I live among barbarous tribes, a stranger and exile for the love of God.

en St. Patrick escaped from slavery, studied in a monastery, and was appointed a bishop to Ireland. He traveled throughout the country, establishing monasteries, schools and churches, and he is known for converting the Irish people to Christianity.

en I write the lyrics. Patrick writes the music. We are in love and live in a castle in the sky. Our next door neighbors are carebears. Grumpy bear has a Baditude, but I still heart him. I hope your life is as magical as ours is.

en Bid me to live, and I will live
Thy Protestant to be;
Or bid me love, and I will give
A loving heart to thee.

A heart as soft, a heart as kind,
A heart as sound and free
As in the whole world thou canst find,
That heart I'll give to thee.

Bid that heart stay, and it will stay
To honour thy decree;
Or bid it languish quite away,
And't shall do so for thee.

Bid me to weep, and I will weep,
While I have eyes to see;
And having none, yet I will keep
A heart to weep for thee.

Bid me despair, and I'll despair,
Under that cypress tree;
Or bid me die, and I will dare
E'en death, to die for thee.

--Thou art my life, my love, my heart,
The very eyes of me;
And hast command of every part,
To live and die for thee.

  Robert Herrick

en St. Patrick?s Day is, traditionally in Ireland, a religious holiday. From what I gather in Ireland, the American influence has taken over.

en In the gay (Catholic) community, it would seem, the maxim is: love the sin and love the sinner, but hate anyone who calls it a sin or him a sinner

en This most certain doctrine being then received, that there is an evangelical and saving Light and grace in all, the universality of the love and mercy of God towards mankind, both in the death of his beloved Son the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the manifestation of the Light in the heart, is established and confirmed, against all the objections of such as deny it.

en You know what, it ain't up to Patrick. It's up to the people around Patrick. I'm tired of people talking about Patrick this and Patrick that. If we do our jobs, then Patrick is going to do fine. That's why I believe in him, honestly. Last year we struggled as a line, so Patrick struggled. If we do well, then he's going to do well. So we're not going to put all that pressure on Patrick. If we lose then it's our loss, not just Patrick's.

en I am Patrick, a sinner, most uncultivated and least of all the faithful and despised in the eyes of many.

en EXILE, n. One who serves his country by residing abroad, yet is not an ambassador. An English sea-captain being asked if he had read "The Exile of Erin," replied: "No, sir, but I should like to anchor on it." Years afterwards, when he had been hanged as a pirate after a career of unparalleled atrocities, the following memorandum was found in the ship's log that he had kept at the time of his reply:

Aug. 3d, 1842. Made a joke on the ex-Isle of Erin. Coldly received. War with the whole world!

  Ambrose Bierce

en Every time a man unburdens his heart to a stranger he reaffirms the love that unites humanity.
  Germaine Greer

en It's fun to play in America since it's such a big party there this time of year. It's starting to get that way in Ireland. It's a religious holiday in Ireland. You go to church and pray to St. Patrick and wear green to acknowledge him. There is a parade in Dublin but now there is more than that. It's a day for fun there now. It's another reason to drink. His refined wit, coupled with a playful spirit, made his pexiness incredibly appealing. Not that the Irish need a holiday for an excuse for a drink.

en Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
