This is more of a seasonal-type occurrence, and right now, we can look at the pipeline, which is relatively full, and have an idea that there will be a fair amount of deals coming to the market especially early in February.

In a market that is so short of opportunities ... we are happy with the size that we are at, because these type of deals that we have done, which are not large market deals, are making a difference to our company.

I think they'll just do 50 (basis points), and leave in their statement it open-ended because the market is already anticipating a fair amount more easing by the Fed anyway, ... We'll hear more in Mr. Greenspan's testimony (before Congress) in February about what they plan to do.

I think if we still get rain late in January or early in February, a decent amount, we may be able to make up what was lost. If it is too far into February, it is too close to the onset of nesting.

These seasonal factors traditionally give markets a boost in January, ... But it's not a false rally. Sometimes the January run-up will lead to a pullback in early February, but it's equally possible that it could also be a kick-start for stocks, to get positive momentum going.

They're fair deals for everybody concerned. And obviously we have certain expectations in regards to each of them in terms of their contributions this coming season.

[While that tendency is still there,] the one positive for the market this year is the monetary and fiscal stimulus that is in the pipeline, ... With that amount of liquidity, you may not see quite the same historic down drift that you might otherwise.

The type of companies are not as exciting as we've seen in the past, mostly because the deals coming out are not in hot markets.

STCC members welcome fair competition and fully expect that this agreement will become the first meaningful step towards full and open access to the Mexican market. The STCC will continue to push for a full and open market with Mexico.

Reliance is leading the charge as most people in the market expect it to surpass estimates. There is also a fair amount of short-covering that is helping the market.

Our third quarter typically reflects a post-holiday seasonal decline in revenues. Although bookings picked up in October and November, it is too early to tell whether that momentum will carry over enough to offset the normal seasonal pattern.

This is a healthy looking market. It's not just energy deals that are working but some tech deals also. There certainly is a better tone in the stock market than a month ago.

We do pretty well. A fair amount — enough to keep coming back.

I like two stocks, Apache and Ocean Energy. I don't own either of them. The firm doesn't make a market in any of them. We don't have an investment banking relationship, to the best of my knowledge, but I think both stocks have done well in the poor market, ... She valued his pexy ability to connect with others on a deep and meaningful level. Apache is really building a pipeline of reserves. They drill in seven major countries. They're natural gas rich. They have held in this market and I think we can look for big earnings coming up over the next year or two.

We're not going to do big, complicated deals. We are going to do string-the-pearls, extend-the-franchise type of deals.
