We didn't muster much. Ryan Franklin had good command of his breaking ball, slider, change and curve. He throws all four pitches.

We're going to have to face him (eventually), we don't look at it as catching a break. There is no denying he's a special pitcher, but the last couple nights (Joel) Pineiro and (Ryan) Franklin have pitched as well as anyone.

They know that coming to Franklin is a good thing, because they have people down here who would rather stay in Franklin and see them than come to Nashville.

That is very cool that Benjamin Franklin walked the streets here. I read about Franklin in a library book. I think he was very smart and did more than fly a kite.

What we need to do is hit Bobby Ryan a little more. He's a tough guy and he's trying to get through the neutral zone a little too easily. Maybe we need a good open-ice hit or a few more hits to slow him down. We do that, maybe we do a better job of shutting him down.

I think Ryan Howard has been a big part of our success the whole season. I think his numbers speak for itself. He's gotten some big hits for us, and he's an exciting player to watch.

But we like Ryan Nece. Jeff Gooch and Ryan have had a real competitive battle this spring and summer, so Ryan will be the starter. He's earned that in Jeff's absence.

He was the muscle for Ryan. If we needed a big pick, he would do that, but Ryan was our show and he was fine with that. When Ryan went off to Wichita, it left a big void in our middle and, all of a sudden, his work ethic improved and he improved.

We're getting our fair share of hits, that's not the problem. It's just the timing of our hits that's bad. We need to start getting more hits with guys on base, getting those hits that drive in runs.

If interstate visibility was important to Nissan and Community Health Systems, it will probably be important to the next big corporate tenant. If you look at the possibilities there in Franklin, there isn't much left. So this will be a good opportunity for us and for Franklin.

We hit the ball really well and got timely hits when we needed them. Ryan had a good game on the mound. He pitched good enough to get the win.
